Short Sighted

The ocean bleeds tears mingled with plastic
Bottle caps, soda rings diced in half, balloons
That tried to make their way to the moon only
To fall short halfway and suffer in silence at the
Bottom of the ocean, wreaking bitter havoc on
All those who pass. We cut this planet open and
While the water boils away, evaporates, we wait
For the slow burn, the ashes, the revenge of
A global self-hatred we could never express.
